Two friends from Cleveland were the first team eliminated Sunday from the latest version of The Amazing Race.

Bilal Abdul-Mani, a medical supply technician, and Sa’eed Rudolph, a power lineman, did not even make it to the first of the round-the-world competition’s pit stops, where the last-place team is usually dropped. Instead, the show shook up the racers by dropping the last team to reach one of the goals on the way to the pit stop. That was Abdul-Mani and Rudolph.

Married Floridians Vipul and Arti Patel were also bounced during the 90-minute telecast when their team was the last to arrive at the pit stop. Ten teams remain in contention for the $1 million prize.
